Adoption Counselling and Advice
Kerry - Adoption Counsellor

As an adoptee myself, I have a ‘lived experience’ of adoption which gives me unique insights into this often difficult (isolating) area of life. If you are specifically looking for an adoption counsellor you will already be aware that there are not many who specialise in this area, and those who do, generally do not have a lived experience of adoption themselves. Therefore making it more challenging for them to understand the full and long reaching complexities of our "tribe."

For Adoptees my own experience of adoption, allows you to have counselling with someone who “truly gets” your particular and individual understanding of how an adoptee, experiences life after adoption.
I am successfully working with adoption from all perspectives of this complex triangle. I am able to work with Birth / Original Parents (biological) / Siblings and extended family. Adoptive
Parents / Siblings and extended family, as well as Adoptees.
Adoption is a complex situation that needs to be handled with sensitivity, safety and grace for all parties concerned. I am able to help guide and support you through this intricate journey.

How long is a Counselling session?

Sessions run for 55 minutes. During this session you are able to discuss the full range of your issues.
The number and frequency of future sessions will be mutually agreed upon after your initial visit and will be dependent on the nature of the concerns you are experiencing.
Rest assured that the aim of our counsellors is to help you find your own stability and strength, empowering you to feel comfortable moving forward in your life as quickly as possible.

It is important to remember...

Each situation you face is as unique as you are.
Therefore, results will unfold at their own pace.

In order to track your improvements and see just how far you have shifted along your healing journey we recommend you write down how you feel before beginning your counselling sessions. That way you can track the positive changes and improvements taking place in your life.
